Practice Nicknames
Practice Nicknames (or Printed Name) is a way to identity a practice for users. This is not the name printed on prescriptions. If you have multiple practice locations under the same practice name, the practice nickname can be a way to distinguish between these practices by, for example, adding the state abbreviation or city name after the practice name. This way users can easily switch between practices if they are a part of multiple under the same name in different locations.
Practice IDs
When practices are created in ScriptSure, they are immediately assigned a Practice ID. This is a unique identifier for every practice created. The Practice ID is useful for support purposes, and also assists in proper mapping of accounts. The Practice ID cannot be manually set.
SPIs
SPI stands for Surescripts Provider Identifier, and one is assigned to a provider at each location they practice at. An SPI is how a provider is registered on the electronic network, Surescripts. A provider cannot send electronic prescriptions without an SPI.
Not only do providers have Surescripts Provider Identifiers, but these can exist at the practice level as well.
