Every pharmacy in the United States that can receive an electronic prescription can be found in ScriptSure.
It is possible for pharmacies to close and therefore they are not available to E-Prescribe to. On the Surescripts network they lose their listing when they close.
A web search may show the pharmacy exists and doesn’t show it as closed. The pharmacy may still be open to sell over the counter meds, candy, soda, etc., but not able to receive E-Prescriptions. As far as the ERX network is concerned and in terms of E-Prescribing and being able to send electronic prescriptions to a pharmacy, they are CLOSED. A different pharmacy will need to be selected in this instance. Closed pharmacies do not show up in searches.
