Cancel an Electronically Sent Prescription

Modified on Wed, 17 Apr at 12:05 AM

After a prescription has been sent to the pharmacy, there's an option available to cancel it for MOST pharmacies. To initiate the cancellation process, select "Cancel Prescription." This action notifies the pharmacy of the cancellation request. Begin by selecting the patient and then locating the prescription. Click on the gear icon at the end of the corresponding row to access the CANCEL PRESCRIPTION option.

It's important to note that there's no guarantee the prescription cancellation will be accepted. For instance, if the pharmacy has already filled the prescription and the patient has picked it up, cancellation may no longer be possible. Additionally, it's crucial to understand that not all pharmacies are certified to receive Cancel Prescription Requests.

After you have initiated the cancellation by clicking "Cancel Prescription," a pop-up message will appear, asking, "Are you sure you want to cancel the prescription?"

  • If confirmed, the prescription status will then change CANCEL and you will see a "Cancellation Pending" under the pharmacy name.

  • If the pharmacy approves the cancellation request, there will be an indicator on the prescription preview screen showing "Cancellation Approved" and status column will continue to show CANCEL.
