Understanding Status, basic and full admin Levels and User Types (provider vs supporting user)

Modified on Fri, 11 Jul at 5:03 PM

Managing users efficiently in ScriptSure starts with understanding the different user statuses, admin levels, and user types within the platform. This guide outlines how these roles and settings function within the ScriptSure Manage site.

User Statuses:

Each user in ScriptSure is assigned a status that determines their level of access:

1. Active – The user is fully enabled and has access to their assigned features.

2. Inactive – The user is deactivated and cannot log in. Their data remains in the system for record-keeping.

3. Pending – The user has been invited but has not completed account setup or verification (e.g., email not yet confirmed).

Tip: Use filters under the “Users” tab to quickly sort users by status.

Admin Levels:

ScriptSure distinguishes between Basic Admins and Full Admins, each with different permissions.

Basic Admin

    - This user is permitted to change practice and clinical application settings

    - Can manage users within the same practice.

    - Can edit user profiles, including roles, emails, and licensing info.

    - Can reset passwords and assist with user setup.

Full Admin

    - This user permitted to Add, Invite and Edit users of the organization

    - Has global access to all settings across the assigned organization(s).

    - Can manage practices, providers, supporting users, and service levels.

    - Can handle integrations (e.g., EPCS, PMP, ID.me) and make organization-wide updates.

User Types:

There are two main user types in ScriptSure:

 1. Provider

    - This user is a health care provider with a NPI number. (Doctor, MD, DO, NP, APRN, PA, etc.)

    - A licensed clinician who writes and signs prescriptions.

    - Must be assigned to a practice.

    - Requires verified credentials, such as:

            * State License Number

            * DEA Number

            * ID.me Verification (for prescribing controlled substances)

            * Can be linked to EPCS and PMP access.

2. Supporting User

    - This user will support provider(s) in a clinical or administrative capacity (Nurse, Secretary, IT,               Supporting Staff, etc.)

    - Assists providers by managing patient charts, scheduling, and documentation.

    - They can send prescriptions as long as the necessary permissions are set up and the provider has enabled the appropriate settings. However, they cannot send controlled substances under any circumstances.

    - May require access to practice information depending on their responsibilities.

Best Practices

  • Always confirm the correct email address when assigning a user to avoid duplicates.
  • Keep user statuses up to date to maintain clean practice records.
  • Assign admin privileges based on the level of responsibility and the need to configure settings.
