ADD Supporting Users & Prescribe Permissions Under Prescribers (Prescribe Using Permissions)

NEW SUPPORTING USER SETUP INFORMATION AND STEPS:

Supporting users can be added to ScriptSure in one of three ways on any ScriptSure practice.  

  • Supporting user invite email sent to a practice; OR
  • Manually added to a practice; OR
  • API call or initiated invite send by vendor EMR the supporting user is on.


The following table shows who can add new users, and where they can do it. 

  • Standalone ScriptSure users (no EMR): Practice Admins can add users directly.

  • EMR-integrated users: If the EMR vendor has locked user creation, only they can add users via API or internal controls.

  • Vendor Admins and Support Staff: Always have access through the ScriptSure management portal.

  • Regular users (Non-admin users): Cannot add users under any configuration.


IMPORTANT NOTE:  Your vendor EMR that has ScriptSure ERX embedded within it may restrict your ability to add a user from directly within the ScriptSure application or within the management site for ScriptSure. 


Permissions for a supporting user to create prescriptions for a provider can be REQUESTED during the invite process OR after the user is added and has access to the application. During is done on the invite window and after can be in the user profile by an admin, by the personal user chaning their Profile  or on the management portal site. 



HOW TO ADD A USER VIA INVITE PROCESS IN SCRIPTSURE:

Adding a Supporting User in ScriptSure:

Step 1: Log into the ScriptSure application https://app.scriptsure.com/login using administrator credentials.

Step 2: Click Add user in the top toolbar and select either invite Supporting User.

Step 3: Complete the invite supporting user page:

Step 4: In the Practice Access tab, assign the appropriate practice(s).  In the Prescriber Access tab, assign which prescribers the supporting user can assist in creating prescriptions if applicable (this can be requested by the user later See REQUEST PRESCRIBING PRIVILEGES) below.

HOW TO ADD A USER VIA INVITE PROCESS FROM MANAGEMENT PORTAL

Step 1: Log In to the Management Portal - Go to manage.scriptsure.com and log in using the supporting user’s username and password. Only active users with valid credentials can access this portal who are ADMINISTRATOR's or VENDOR ADMINS.

Step 2: Search for the practice or user and Select or View on the user's account.







Requesting Prescribing Privileges  via Management Portal for Supporting Users (for already setup users): 

Management portal: https://manage.scriptsure.com/login

Step 1: Log In to the Management Portal
Go to manage.scriptsure.com and log in using the supporting user’s username and password. Only active users with valid credentials can access this portal who are ADMINISTRATOR's or VENDOR ADMINS.

Step 2: Search for the practice or user and Select or View the user's account.

Step 3: Once selected, on the left side of dashboard, look for and click on “Request Prescriber Access”. This section allows the user to initiate access requests to link to a supervising prescriber.

Step 3: View Available Prescribers
The system displays a list of prescribers available within the user's associated practice or organization. These are prescribers the supporting user may request access to assist.

Step 4: Select Prescriber(s)
Check the box next to the prescriber(s) the supporting user needs access to. One or multiple selections may be made depending on the practice setup.

Step 5: Submit Request
Click Submit to send the access request. The system routes this to the selected prescriber(s) for review.

Step 6: Prescriber Approves the Request
The selected prescriber(s) will receive an alert in their ScriptSure portal (and optionally via email, if enabled) prompting them to approve or deny the access request.

Step 7: Access Granted Upon Approval
Once approved, the supporting user will be able to prescribe on behalf of the approved prescriber(s) within the ScriptSure eRx application, according to their permission level.

Requesting Prescribing Privileges – Supporting User (Post-Activation)

Step 1: Log In to ScriptSure
The supporting user logs into their active ScriptSure account using their assigned username and password.

Step 2: Open User Menu
In the top-right corner of the application, the user clicks their name to open the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Select “Settings”
From the dropdown, select Settings to access user-specific configuration options.

Step 4: Go to “Request Prescriber Access” Section
In the Settings panel, locate and select the “Request Prescriber Access” option. This opens a list of prescribers associated with the practice or organization.

Step 5: Choose Prescriber(s)
From the available list, check the box next to the prescriber(s) the supporting user needs to assist or prescribe for.

Step 6: Submit the Request
Click Submit Request to send the access request. This triggers an internal notification to the selected prescriber(s).

Step 7: Prescriber Approval
The prescriber receives the request and must approve it from their own ScriptSure account. Once approved, the supporting user will gain access to enter and send prescriptions on behalf of that prescriber, subject to their role permissions.
