Approve Controlled Substances with EPCS MFA+ Feature

ScriptSure now includes a new feature, EPCS MFA+, designed to make approving controlled-substance prescriptions easier and more convenient for medical providers.

Traditionally, approving a controlled-substance prescription requires the provider to log in to ID.me using their username and password and then complete the approval through the ID.me Authenticator app using a push notification, code generator, or FOB.

With EPCS MFA+, providers can create a 4-digit code that can be used instead of entering their ID.me username and password each time a controlled prescription is sent. This makes the approval process faster and eliminates the need to open a separate ID.me window.

EPCS MFA+ also provides the added benefit of reducing browser-related issues. Since the ID.me window is no longer required for each prescription approval, users do not need to manage pop-up blockers or cross-site traffic settings for this step.

EPCS MFA+ Setup

Both existing and new ScriptSure medical providers follow the same process to set up EPCS MFA+. Supporting users cannot set up EPCS MFA+ on behalf of a provider. The provider must complete the setup for their own profile.

Important: The initial setup and verification of the provider's ID.me account is still required for all providers. EPCS MFA+ is an additional feature that is set up after the provider has completed their ID.me account setup. It does not replace the required ID.me registration or verification process.
